2 months old!

Today is Jett's 2 month birthday! Can you believe he is already 2 months old? It seems like it has flown by! He has his two month check up tomorrow so I will be able to update weight and height officially then. Last time we went a little over a week ago he was 11 lbs 4 oz. He is learning so much and changing daily.

This month he is:

1. Cooing and talking


2. Sleeping through the night (the last two nights he's gone to sleep about 9pm and woken up about 6am!)


3. Smiling regularly and in response to actions


4. Sucking and slurping on his hands


5. Interacting with his toys

Jessica is in Colorado this weekend. Thursday I took both kids to Salina to meet up with Grandpa Ike and Aunt Sharolyn so they could take Jessica to Colorado with them. They went up for a long weekend so she will be back mid-week. She was very excited to see Meme, Poppy & Uncle Marcus! Summer is here!

Last day of First grade! Jessica rode her bike to school today, she has been so excited and has wanted to ride it all year. She got her training wheels off a few weeks ago so Jett and I walked her to school this morning so she could ride her bike. Congratulations Jessica!!!! She's now a second grader!!!
It's official...summer has started! Jessica and a few of her friends were in the pool minutes after we got home!

Last week of school & sick boy update

Jessica's last day is tomorrow!!! I can't believe summer is already here, it seems like the past few months have flown by in a blur. Jett is 7 weeks old now and Jessica is almost 7 years old! Her birthday is in 2 short weeks. As my mom always says "I'm not old enough to have a *insert age here* daughter." Her birthday has kind of snuck up on us, we've been talking about ideas for a while now but finally decided and got things booked today! We are going to go get party supplies this weekend!

Jett is still sick, poor guy has so much congestion and can't breathe very well. We are headed back to the doctor this afternoon to have them use their machine to suck his nose out. We did it on Monday when we were in and he felt so much better. He was able to sleep for several hours once he finally got some relief.

Here is a picture of Kevin and Jett this morning. I went to go call the doctor to get an appointment to get his nose sucked and when I came back in this is how I found them....so cute! I love my boys!

Happy Boy

Jett was all smiles this morning! He's like Jessica, all smiles even when he doesn't feel well. He has his first cold and double ear infections, poor little boy!

Six week doctor visit

I went in today for my six week postpartum visit and saw my regular doctor. She was on maternity leave when I delivered and just recently came back so she missed all the "excitement" I went through after having Jett. I filled her in on everything that happened and she wanted to do a sonogram and recheck my blood to make sure everything was back to normal. I really have been feeling fine so I expected the results to say so. After my sonogram she pulled me back into her office and informed me that my uterus is full again and under normal circumstances I would be going in for a D&C but since this would be my THIRD in a month she wants to try something else first. She put me on progesterone and wants me to try this first, basically she said it is a chemical D&C. I go back again in four weeks for another follow up visit, if things aren't cleared up by then I'll have to go in for another D&C. I asked her WHY this happened and what is causing it but she couldn't give me an answer, she said she has never seen this and has never seen someone that has required 2-3 D&C procedures. I'm frustrated and quite honestly scared.

Weekend

Saturday was Layne's birthday party at the bowling alley. After bowling we went to their house for cake, ice cream and presents. That evening Jason's band had a benefit concert for Children's Mercy hospital. Jessica has never been able to see Jason play so we went to watch, she was in awe I think lol. Sunday when I woke up Jessica gave me all the presents she had for me, she gave me an awesome card that had her voice recorded in it and played a special song, I loved it! She also gave me a coupon book of special things she could do to help me when I needed her (I'm hoping for one of those every year!!!) and Jett, Jessica and Kevin also gave me a gift certificate for six months worth of massages! I'm leaving in about 10 minutes to go get my first one! I had a great Mother's Day, I'm so blessed to have two beautiful and healthy children and a wonderful and loving husband!

Happy Baby

The evenings tend to be Jett's fussy time during the day. About 6:00 he starts fussing and not a lot will make him happy until he finally falls asleep around 8:30 or so. Well tonight after trying the normal bag of tricks I decided to take him outside, he really enjoys being out during the day so I figured it was worth a shot...worked like a charm!

We sat on the porch for about 30-40 minutes until he started getting hungry. Looks like I'd better get a good book and comfy chair for our porch time!

Jett's one month check up

Jett started smiling on his one month birthday and over the past few days has been smiling more and more. I finally captured one with the camera today!

We took Jett to the doctor today for his one month check up. He weighs 10 lbs 3.5oz and is 22 5/8 inches long! He's gained 2 lbs since he was born and has grown 3 inches! He's in the 70th percentile for weight and 75th for height!
We also talked to the doctor about his tummy problems and the doctor believes he has acid reflux so we are going to try some Zantac and see if that helps things.
The doctor said everything else is great and he's very happy with his weight gain. It made me feel better to know he's doing so well with his weight. With all the problems I have had this month, I wasn't sure if he was getting all the nutrients and everything he needed from nursing.

One Month Old!

It doesn't seem possible that Jett has been alive for an entire month already, it sure does go quickly!
