Track Dreams...

It isn't often that we find track clothes for sale at regular stores and today when we went to get Jessica some new shoes we found both of these shirts at two different stores. Kevin is all about Jett being a track star so maybe by me wearing this track shirt for his last few weeks in my belly and then having his own little track shirt to wear as he learns to walk Daddy's dreams might just come true! LOL (and yes it will all be because I found these shirts!)

35 Weeks

So far, so good this morning. No contractions! I was worn out and exhausted last night and fell asleep before 9:15 and woke up this morning feeling good.

I am tired of being pregnant and ready to get this little guy here but I do want him to hold off for another two weeks or so. I want to be able to hold him and cuddle him and make sure he can come home with us, I don't want to worry about any health problems or anything. So I'm going to suck it up for the next two weeks and then you best believe I will be encouraging him to get on out!

A trip to the doctor...

Friday night I had a little bit of "back pain" and did as the doctor had instructed when it was possible they were Braxton Hicks or contractions and drank my water, took some Tylenol and went to bed. They went away and I was fine. Then last night they started again, I did the same thing and fell asleep. However, this morning the pain was still there, nothing too miserable and I just chalked it up to an achy back. By about 11 though I was starting to get pretty uncomfortable and having pain in my stomach to accompany the back pain. I never timed it but they were within 10 minutes of each other I would guess. Since I was working I just took the Tylenol and stayed at my desk instead of laying down. After another hour or so they weren't getting any better so I decided to go for a "quick" walk around the block. (By quick I mean as fast as I could waddle comfortably). By the time I got home I was beyond uncomfortable and bordering on tears.

About that time my friend Chelsea called and I was talking to her and telling her what was going on. Between her and Kevin they talked me into calling the doctor. The nurse of course scheduled an appointment for me to come in and get checked out this afternoon to make sure I wasn't dilating or anything. Everything checked out fine, I wasn't dilated at all. She did tell me that the contractions will probably continue and increase in frequency and intensity but for the next two weeks just to take the Tylenol and lay down when that happens. After I hit 37 weeks I'm free to walk and encourage them to continue and progress into real labor.

Date night:

Last night Kevin and I had a date night. We went to Haru's Steak and Sushi and it was SO good! We went to a Japanese steak house once before in Florida for Kevin's birthday and had a great time. My friend Erin told me they went there for her birthday last weekend so we gave it a try-we weren't disappointed! It is so fun watching them flip all the food around and make the onion volcanoes, etc. (Is it weird that it is only 10:00 am and I am craving more of the steak and rice from last night lol)

After dinner we went to Jason's (Kevin's brother in law) show and they were supposed to go on at 9:00 but about 9:45 when another band went on before them we decided to call it a night since Kevin had a conference to go to this morning.

Thank you Rachel & Deanna!

We got these in the mail from Rachel last week, she also got us a really cute blanket with a monkey on it but it is being washed in preparation for the little guy to get here so I figured I'd post the other stuff while I'm on here (I'll add the blanket pic as soon as I get the laundry brought up). Anyway, she got us this cute light switch cover to match his room:

And his little monkey night light..so cute!

Thank you to Deanna for spending so much time making this personalized decoration for Jett's room!

34 Weeks

I'm about finished with taking pictures...I'm hoping he'll be here shortly after the 36/37 week mark so I may only have one picture left to take! And yes, before you ask, that is my belly button starting to poke out! LOL
Things are going well, I'm pretty sure I've started nesting. Our house is clean and mostly organized, I'm still working on a few projects. Jessica's room now has a queen size bed in it instead of the twin loft. After she was sick last week and had to put her mattress on the floor so I could get to her we both decided we were tired of that situation so we roped Pops into bringing up the big bed. She LOVES her big bed and so do I! (Pictures to come)
I have finished washing and sorting all of Jett's clothes, blankets, bibs, socks, cloth diapers, etc. I do have a few things to hang up but for the most part his room and closet are finished. Jessica and I packed his diaper bag for the hospital yesterday so he's all set! (Mommy still hasn't packed her bag yet though!)
I know I'm a day early on the update for this week but I took the picture today so it's getting posted today! Click here, here and here to learn what Jett is up to this week.

Thank you Kris!

We got these as a gift for Jett about a week or so ago and I haven't posted pictures yet because my camera batteries were dead. She got us these fun toys for Jett and a sheet for his changing pad! Thanks so much Kris, I can't wait for him to get here so we can use them!!!
Thank yous for Mike & Rachel and DeAnna coming soon-still need to take pictures!

Whopper...YUMMY

My husband told me about the new chedder tots they have at Burger King last week so we stopped there for dinner while we were running around. I got a Whopper and the cheesy tots...ever since then I have had major cravings for Whoppers! I had to take my lunch break and go to Burger King and get one!

George went to the vet...

He was due for his shots and check up so we took him on Friday and had him groomed as well. When Kevin went to pick him up they told him how wonderful he was and how great he did and told him they did a body test on him. They said he scored a 5 out of 5! Kevin thought that was great...THEN they told him that 'actually 3 out of 5 is best.' So then they proceeded to explain to him that 1 is very thin, 2 is thin, 3 is normal, 4 is fat, and 5 is morbidly obese! LOL

So George is now on a diet and he is NOT happy about it. A few months ago we were getting a lot of comments from family and friends about how big George was and how fat he was etc. so we cut back on his food and the poor guy acted like we were starving him to death. He would sit and lick his empty bowl and follow us around like we were neglecting him, so we went back to giving him the normal amount recommended on the bag...I guess we should have stuck with the diet! So now we are going through it all again and he's not any more impressed this time around.

Jessica took a Sibling Class

She watched a movie on what to expect when the baby comes, they also gave her some ideas for ways she can help and things she can do for her little brother. They briefly touched on changing diapers but she didn't want any part of that LOL. They also showed her how to wrap him up in a blanket and she seemed to really enjoy that. Here are a few pictures of her learning how:

She is going to be a WONDERFUL big sister!!!

Back to Normal!

Sorry for the delay in updating! I don't think I posted this but Wednesday the doctor saw that one of her tonsils was inflamed and put her on an antibiotic. Then Thursday at our follow up appointment she said her other tonsil was starting to swell as well, she checked again on the culture from Monday for strep throat and told us it has started to grow but it wasn't the normal strep. They gave her a shot in both of her legs of an antibiotic and also told me to continue giving her the antibiotic we had started on Wednesday at home. By Friday morning she was a whole new girl! She is feeling MUCH better now and seems to be back to normal although maybe a little more tired than usual still. I'm hoping all of this nastiness is behind us and I can't believe strep throat made her this sick!!!

Jessica update

Well I'm not deliriously exhausted like I was when I was trying to post last night, so hopefully this will be a little easier! LOL

We both crashed early last night. She slept really well and barely woke in the night when I had to give her medicine. About 2:30 when I checked on her she was sweating and her pillow and hair were all wet. I was excited thinking that meant that her fever had broken and she might be finished with it today. So we got up this morning and she has been telling me she is feeling fine and she's not going to be sick anymore (I think she is willing this darn illness away cause she's tired of the doctor!). So she ate a healthy breakfast and lunch and has been up playing and cleaning her room and doing art projects. About 12:30, after we finished lunch, I checked her temp again and unfortunately it was starting to rise again. It was 99.9. This is the same pattern the fever took yesterday and ended up at 104.4 in the afternoon. I gave her Tylenol and I just checked it again a few minutes ago and it was going back down and at 99.1. We have an appointment this afternoon at 3:00 to see the doctor so we'll see if we are able to find out anything new then.

Home from another long day at the doctor

So we had our appointment at 10:00 this morning, while we were there the doctor informed me that when she had her CAT Scan a week ago to rule out appendicitis the radiologist never actually saw her appendix! SO the doctor reordered the CAT Scan and we went and had that redone. Of course I was livid for having to put her through it again-not that the CAT Scan is bad but that test requires her to have an IV which she is already terrified of. So as we drove from one hospital to the other she screamed in the backseat for me to turn the car around "right now" cause she was not going to do another test and get another "pointy" in her arm. I explained to her that they had magic lotion there that they could put on her before the IV so she wouldn't feel anything, she wasn't having ANY part of that at all. I told her that Pops called the hospital before we got there to make sure they used the magic lotion on her as well.

So we got into the new hospital and they gave her the pink lemonade with the "stuff" in it to make her glow during the CAT Scan and she started drinking it and calmed down quite a bit. We got put into a room shortly after and she perked up a little again. Here is a picture of her and Nana reading stories:

As you can see below it wasn't all totally traumatic:

Here is a picture of the magic lotion on her arms before she got the IV:

So they did her IV and took her in for the CAT Scan, they saw the appendix this time and there is nothing wrong with it, they detected no infection, no inflammation or anything so they sent us home knowing nothing more than when we got there.

Here is a picture of her with her prize that they gave her for doing such a great job...she loves Curious George!

We have another appointment with her doctor tomorrow at 3:00, I'll update again after that.

33 weeks today! (Did you see how I got to just skip right over week 32!)

Click here, here and here to see how big Jett is this week!
Everything is going well, his room is almost finished and aside from lotions, shampoos, medicines and a few other misc. items I think we are all set. I plan to finish up the last of the shopping this weekend. I organized his closet yesterday by size (check out these adorable closet organizers) so we can see how much of everything we have. And I have the last few loads of laundry, to be washed before his arrival, waiting in the laundry room; hopefully I'll get to that by this weekend too.
Other than nightmarish heartburn I'm doing okay. I'm not sleeping well at all but that is a combination of Jessica being sick, heartburn, frequent trips to the bathroom and just not being able to get comfortable. Then 3 out of 5 times when I do get comfortable I wake up to a limb that has fallen asleep. I think I'll actually get more sleep after Jett gets here!

Back to the ER

Yesterday about 4:30 Jessica went from playing, reading and acting normal to laying on the floor hardly moving within about 15 minutes. I took her temp and it was 103.5, I gave her Tylenol and tried to cool her off the best I could. I also called the doctor since they were about to close and of course had to leave a message. About 5:00 when the nurse called me back Jessica started telling me it felt like her chest was on fire it was so hot, so as I was on the phone with the nurse I took her temp again, it was 104.3 so I told the nurse it was continuing to go up even with the Tylenol in her system. She immediately told me she needed to be seen last night so we loaded up and headed to the ER again.

Poor little girl was terrified that she was going to have to get another IV and sure enough she did. They also tested her for mono, did another strep test, took chest x-rays and ran several other tests, all came back negative. We still don't know what is causing all of this but we have an appointment with her doctor again this morning and they are planning to run several other tests as well...I'll keep you posted!

The good news is she is continuing to eat and drink pretty well and when I checked on her a few minutes ago she didn't feel warm at all. I didn't take her temp since she's still sleeping but she doesn't feel warm and she's sleeping well!

Sick little girl again...

Jessica woke up this morning complaining of a headache, as soon as I felt her I realized she had a fever as well. I took her temp and it was 103.7, she was shivering and complaining that her stomach hurt as well. I gave her some Tylenol and tried to call the doctor but couldn't get through to anyone. Since she was just in the ER for these same symptoms (though this time a much higher fever) I went ahead and just took her into the doctor without an appointment. The receptionist was not impressed but did manage to get us in to see the doctor right away so I was relieved.

They did a strep and flu test on her again, both of which came back negative again. The doctor then ordered x-rays of her stomach. Even though she had a CAT Scan last week, there were no comments regarding her intestines so they wanted to rule out severe constipation or something along those lines. We should have the x-ray results this afternoon. While the x-rays could explain the stomach pains it still doesn't explain the fever so we still aren't sure what is going on. I will update as I get answers from the doctor.

UPDATE: I got the call back from the doctor on the x-ray. They said she has a moderate amount of stool in her intestines and after her fever goes away they want me to give her a cap full of miraLax daily to cleanse her. She was feeling pretty good for a little bit so I gave her a small handful of blueberries and half of a turkey sandwich as well as about 2 T of prune juice diluted in water. She wasn't impressed with the juice but I was able to get her to drink some. I'm hoping she'll get some relief in the next 24-48 hours and feel better!

UPDATE #2: I just got back from the store, I picked her up the MiraLAX as well as apple juice, dried prunes, applesauce, and mandarin oranges. I gave her a little bit of the MiraLAX in some apple juice and she drank it all no problems. Then I gave her the dried prunes and told her to have at them, she loved them and had a few right away. HOPEFULLY the combination of everything she has had will produce some results tonight or tomorrow and she can get back to normal.

UPDATE #3: She still has a high fever and I can't seem to be able to get it down below 100 degrees (under the arm). She is thankfully still drinking liquids but she's not eating much. I called the doctor this morning to let them know I'm not having any luck getting her temp down and they said if the fever persists throughout today to make an appointment again for tomorrow. So it looks like once again Jess will be missing a party at school. Poor girl always manages to get sick during the fun stuff at school; 100th day, Election day, Valentine's Day party, etc.

Good news!!!

We had a doctor's appointment today and we got some GREAT news!!! It seems all along that my due date has been April 1st and not April 7th. We were told April 7th during our first sonogram and no one ever told us that they were actually going with the calendar date we had figured at my first appointment. SO we just got a whole week shaved off and he'll be here earlier than we thought (at least we hope). So I'm actually almost finished with my 32nd week, not the 31st.

Jessica was so happy to be over her sickness this week and back at school to participate in Spirit week. They had slipper/sock day, pj day, crazy hair day, hat day and tomorrow is mismatch day. Unfortunately Kevin had to go out of town and had to take the camera this week so I didn't get any pictures. I will make sure to get one in the morning of mismatch day though, I'm not sure what she'll come up with!

Happy Thursday! oh...and WOOOOOWHHOOOOOO it is supposed to be in the 60's for the next several days! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

31 weeks!

9 left...we are down to single digits!

We had our shower a few days ago and I have had so much fun putting everything away and getting his room ready with all the new "goodies" we received. Papa is working on his dresser and I have to order curtains and a few other odds and ends but we are in pretty good shape overall! I'll try and take a few pictures of his room with all the new stuff in it!

Baby Shower

Thank you so much to Amy and Rita for all their hard work and for giving us such a wonderful shower! It was absolutely perfect and we couldn't have asked for anything more!

Here are a couple pictures of all our wonderful gifts and some at the shower as well:
I tried to make sure everything was pictured, if I'm missing anything I'm so sorry!

How many people does it take to set up a pack and play? :0)
Jessica also recieved some presents for being the big sister. She was so excited to be able to go to the shower and even more excited when she found out there were presents for her too! She's going to be the best big sister ever!

Thank you SO much for everything, we are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
