Well..Jess WASN'T feeling better after all...

She was very excited for the 100th day and got up and got ready to go to school but didn't make it out the door. She started crying again that her stomach hurt so she went back to bed. She said her stomach hurt all day but never threw up again...although her temp remained at a steady 100.4. Friday morning at 5:30 she came and woke me up and said she couldn't' sleep cause her stomach and head hurt so bad. I got her some Tylenol and a drink and she went back to bed. About 8:45 she came in again saying it still hurt and it hurt really bad. By that point I was completely puzzled and decided to call the doctor. We sent up an appointment for 10:45. I tried to encourage her to eat a saltine cracker thinking her stomach might hurt a little from not having any food in her system since she'd hardly eaten anything for 3 days. As she sat down at the table to eat the cracker she just looked awful and within seconds ran for the bathroom and got sick again. I was glad at that point that we had already made a doctor's appointment.

So we got to the doctor and they checked her for strep, the flu and a UTI...all came back negative. So then they did blood work, everything came back fine so they just said it was a virus and sent us home. We got home about 1;30 and about 2:00 my mother in law asked if they pushed on her belly or anything or in anyway ruled out appendicitis...so I went and pushed on her belly and asked where it hurt. Of course it right below the belly button and stretched from hip bone to hip bone so I called the doc back and left a message for her. At 4:00 they called back and said they wanted us to go to the ER for an ultrasound to make sure that wasn't what it was. So needless to say ER trips aren't ever "in and out" we sat in the ER from 4:15 to 9:15. They gave her zofran, the same meds they gave me for morning sickness. Within about 30 minutes she was feeling great and ready to eat! They also gave her this stuff to make her insides glow for a CAT Scan. So they did that and found nothing. By this point she was STARVING! They gave her a popsicle and a bag of IV fluids and at 9:30 discharged us telling us it was probably just a bug and she's not contagious and sent us home with a few zofran pills!

The doctor said it was okay for her to eat a plain turkey and black olive sandwich so we stopped and got her one on our way home. She ate about 3/4 of that and then went to bed. She slept until 9:45 this morning and woke up feeling pretty good. She's eating a pedialyte popsicle this morning and she's excited to go to the baby shower this afternoon so I'm crossing my fingers she's on the mend! (for real this time)

Jessica is back to normal!

She hasn't thrown up since last night around 8:30 and she hasn't had a fever all day! We've gone with pretty bland foods all day but she's done great. I'm hoping we just had a mild case of a 24 hour bug and it's gone now! She's excited to go to school tomorrow to celebrate the 100th day of school!

A few special "Thank You's" for my Aunt Kelly and for my friend Chelsea

The very first shower gift we received were these beautiful hand-made burp cloths from my Aunt Kelly. I meant to post a picture of them when we got them and my card reader on my computer wasn't working at the time. She did such a good job on them, kinda makes me all excited to get vomited on! Just kidding, they are cute but I don't think anything could make me excited for that! I love that these are blue and brown and match his room! Thank you Kelly!!!!
Another "Thank You" to my friend Chelsea! She has passed on a ton of clothes for Jett from her son (here's a picture of Jett's closet...90% of those clothes are from Chelsea!)
She has also bought him these cute picture frames and this really cute soft blanket, I'm loving the blue and brown again!

Jessica is sick again!

Kevin and I went to the program at Jessica's school this afternoon and the teacher came over to talk to us and asked us if we were there because Jess's stomach had been hurting? I said no, I didn't know anything about it. Then about 30 minutes later Jess looks over at me during the program and mouths "My stomach hurts" I got up and went over there to tell the teacher I was taking her to the bathroom and by the time we could get out of the lunch area she was throwing up! Poor little thing. She's soaking in the bathtub now and then I'm going to get her pjs on her and turn on a movie and tuck her into bed. Poor little girl, she asked Kevin if she was still going to be able to go to the shower on Saturday since she got sick. I think that is the reason she didn't want to come home earlier in the day when she went to the nurse!

30 WEEKS!!! That 'sounds' like we are so close to the end of the pregnancy!!

I know we still have about a 10 week or so wait, but just hitting that mark gave me a little boost of energy! It sounds SO much closer to his arrival date!

Click here, here and here to see what he's up to this week.

I'm doing well, starting to get really uncomfortable and I'm ready for Jett to get here. I am not getting much sleep at night and have found out that I am one of the lucky 1 in 35 that gets to experience SDP, click here to read about it. So far mine isn't too unbearable except at night when I'm trying to move positions or when I first get up from a sitting position.

I'm very anxious for my shower on Saturday and we have already received a few gifts in the mail. I posted the pictures of the gifts from my friend Jen, and then yesterday we got a gift from my grandma Betty. She sent us a portable high chair we registered for! Thanks Betty!

Weekend:

Well Friday night I was on my own, Kevin was in Chicago and Jess was gone for the weekend. I decided to spend the evening by shopping at all my favorite stores! I went to Kirkland's, Tuesday Morning and Marshall's. Then I got Panda Express for my dinner and stuffed myself silly. Then I spent the rest of the evening rearranging all our knick knacks and making room for a few new purchases that I found and cleaning the house. I have to say that I think our house feels much more welcoming now. My favorite purchase are the red silk curtains I got for the living room, they add so much color and brightness to the room and pull it all together. I'll try and get pictures posted this afternoon.

Saturday, Randy, Jason and a friend of theirs came out to continue work on the basement! They got almost all the drywall put up and it looks great! I'm so excited to get it all put together when it's finished!

I hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Presents!

When I got home from picking up Jessica from school today there was a package sitting on our front porch! Look at all the awesome presents we got as a surprise present from my friend Jen! Thanks so much Jen, you are awesome!!!

5-pack of Carters onesies and 4-pack Carters receiving blankets!

And she even included a surprise for Jess! A diary set that she can decorate however she wants. She has been working on it very hard since she opened it and has it all colored and full of glitter. I'll post pictures after it is all finished!

Thanks again Jen, you are so thoughtful!

29 week photo

My what a difference 4 weeks makes huh! I feel (and look) like I've tripled in size! Anyway, I haven't posted a picture in a while and I realize this isn't the best pic but I'll get more next week at my shower and put some of those on here.

Kevin's field trip while in Chicago...

Kevin's boss took his group to this place while he was in Chicago http://www.galoscaves.com/

He said all it did was make him really tired....I'm thinking about turning a room in our house into a salt room if it will make him fall asleep!

It got me...

I've been battling a sore throat for the past four or five days and it finally won. I woke up at 4:30am and felt like I could barely swallow. It hurt a little before I went to bed last night but nothing like it did in the middle of the night and today. I put a call in to the doctor to make sure I can take TheraFlu-they called back and said no on that. They did say I could try Sudafed and see if the sore throat is caused from drainage and the Sudafed could dry it up. I'm also gargling with salt water *Yummy* and taking Tylonal (the pregnancy cure all drug). Hopefully it doesn't hang around long!

29 Weeks

29 weeks down...11 to go. (Actually I'm hoping about NINE to go. I would be okay if this little guy came a couple weeks early!) As you can see from our previous post we are starting to get things ready for him. We still have a little way to go before it is completely ready for him but at least Mommy and Daddy are starting to feel like we are doing something other than just waiting.

Click here and here to see what our little man is up to this week.

Jessica has been a big help with getting things ready for her little brother. She has so much fun shopping for him and picking things out. She helped us put his bedroom together and even helped with his bed. She is just a great little girl, I don't think there would be many kids that were so excited to spend three days looking at baby beds for someone else and not whine about it once! She did get some new beach stuff for her bathroom yesterday for her positive attitude and helpfulness the past few days.

Well...I said I was getting impatient so...

this is what we did this weekend. We bought and put up his crib and started hanging things on his walls. I also washed and hung up all the clothes we have for him. I know we still have some time before he gets here but getting a room ready for him is helping it feel more real and like we are getting a little closer.
below: these are picture frames that we plan to put black and white photos of him in when he gets here. Click here to see an example.
We still have some work to do obviously but at least we have a start now!

Impatient

I'm starting to get very impatient! I'm so anxious to decorate his room and I'm waiting until after our shower to buy anything else. I'm so anxious for our shower and I still have two weeks to wait. I'm so anxious for this little guy to get here so we can hold him in our arms, and we still have over 2 months to wait. Patience has never been a strong virtue of mine!

28 weeks - THIRD TRIMESTER !!!!

I am SO excited to be in the home stretch! Not much to report-we've cleared out his room and are ready to start putting it together, our shower is on Jan 31st so after that we will finish buying everything for the little man. I CAN'T WAIT! I'm ready to get his little room ready so it feels more "real." Not that I have any question whether it is real or not...my growing belly and shrinking bladder are both constant reminders. I'm starting to feel the fatigue that was so fun during the first trimester...although now it is because I am up every two hours to go to the bathroom and then it takes another 30 minutes to get comfortable in bed. TWELVE more weeks though!

Weekend:

Saturday Kevin and I went to see Marley and Me. We had both read the book a few years ago so we knew what to expect but it was a great movie! A little bit of a tear jerker so bring your kleenex!

Sunday Jessica ended up going over to play at our neighbors house so Kevin and I cleaned the house. We got Jett's room all cleaned out (used to be my office). My temporary office is now set up in the living room and I'm not super crazy about it but I am excited to get started on his room. My project for this week will be cleaning up the basement (where all my office stuff got moved to) so the guys can still get down there to work and finish it so we can move my office all the way down there and get the guest bed set up etc.

Date Night

Last night Kevin and I went on a dinner date courtesy of Santa! We got a gift card to Longhorn Steakhouse in our stocking so we had a nice dinner together. Kevin got a huge steak (of course) and I got the chicken. I didn't' want to have to eat well done steak (I like it medium) and that is how the doctor said you have to eat meat during pregnancy-so I went with the chicken. It was REALLY good and after we waited an hour to get our table it was worth it! We had planned on sharing a dessert but after we both finished eating we were stuffed. Our waitress came to check on us when we were finished and I was leaning back in my seat with my hands resting on my stomach, she looked at me and said, "Soooooooo..are you just really full??" I didn't get it and she said it again. Kevin started laughing and said "No, she's pregnant." She said she didn't want to ask but she thought so. We got a good laugh out of it. Anyway, we enjoyed our dinner, THANKS SANTA!

Had a doctor visit today

We ended up having to go in a day early. Last night I was watching TV and he got really active and started moving a lot. Then he completely stopped, he still hadn't moved when I got up this morning and even after taking Jess to school, taking a shower and rubbing lotion on my belly (which usually makes him move) there was still no activity. I drank some OJ and waited about 20 minutes before calling the doctor. In addition to him not moving I've also been having Braxton Hicks contractions for the past few days and off and on in my back. I was concerned and the doctor wanted to check things out so she had me come in for a sonogram. I got to see him and he's cute as can be! He doesn't look like an alien anymore and has some meat on his bones! Most importantly though he's doing great! He passed his test in just a few minutes and my amniotic fluid levels were great. The doctor told me if I am having the contractions/Braxton Hicks to take a Tylenol and lay down and if they aren't gone in an hour then I need to give them a call. Other than that no worries! I am SO relieved everything went well and it was such peace of mind to be able to see the little guy!

And here is a picture of the proud big sister! She was SO excited to see the new pictures of her little brother today!

27 weeks!

Click here and here to see what Jett is doing this week. Things are going well for us, he's very active now. I'm a little concerned because he is only hanging out on one side of my stomach though. I mentioned it to my doctor in passing last week when I was at my appointment and she didn't seem too concerned, said they sometimes have a favorite spot. I've been paying extra close attention for the past few weeks though and I haven't felt him on the other side at all. So I think I'll ask her about it again at my appointment on Friday just to ease my mind.

My project for the day:

I decided to make the kids letters for their rooms...here is a picture of Jessica's. I thought hers turned out so cute and colorful in her room! She's still a Florida girl at heart so she is always finding palm trees and flip flops....she found these at Hobby Lobby and as soon as we saw them we knew we had to use them on her letters somehow. The true colors of the letters are a little brighter than this pictures shows but you get the idea.

Here are Jett's letters. Yes we decided on a name! I know we said we weren't going to tell anyone until it was signed on his birth certificate but I made letters so it is set in stone now! LOL This is the first (and only) name we have both loved and we kept coming back to it so that is what we decided to go with. Here are the letters for Jett's room:

Hazmat gear

We got home last night and George was sick, not sure what he got into but he left a nice little treat at the top of the stairs for us (well actually for Kevin). It smelled AWFUL and we were all gagging, this is the outfit Kevin came up with to get through the cleaning process. I told him if he can clean up George's mess then he will have no problem with the baby's "treats."
