She was very excited for the 100th day and got up and got ready to go to school but didn't make it out the door. She started crying again that her stomach hurt so she went back to bed. She said her stomach hurt all day but never threw up again...although her temp remained at a steady 100.4. Friday morning at 5:30 she came and woke me up and said she couldn't' sleep cause her stomach and head hurt so bad. I got her some Tylenol and a drink and she went back to bed. About 8:45 she came in again saying it still hurt and it hurt really bad. By that point I was completely puzzled and decided to call the doctor. We sent up an appointment for 10:45. I tried to encourage her to eat a saltine cracker thinking her stomach might hurt a little from not having any food in her system since she'd hardly eaten anything for 3 days. As she sat down at the table to eat the cracker she just looked awful and within seconds ran for the bathroom and got sick again. I was glad at that point that we had already made a doctor's appointment.
So we got to the doctor and they checked her for strep, the flu and a UTI...all came back negative. So then they did blood work, everything came back fine so they just said it was a virus and sent us home. We got home about 1;30 and about 2:00 my mother in law asked if they pushed on her belly or anything or in anyway ruled out appendicitis...so I went and pushed on her belly and asked where it hurt. Of course it right below the belly button and stretched from hip bone to hip bone so I called the doc back and left a message for her. At 4:00 they called back and said they wanted us to go to the ER for an ultrasound to make sure that wasn't what it was. So needless to say ER trips aren't ever "in and out" we sat in the ER from 4:15 to 9:15. They gave her zofran, the same meds they gave me for morning sickness. Within about 30 minutes she was feeling great and ready to eat! They also gave her this stuff to make her insides glow for a CAT Scan. So they did that and found nothing. By this point she was STARVING! They gave her a popsicle and a bag of IV fluids and at 9:30 discharged us telling us it was probably just a bug and she's not contagious and sent us home with a few zofran pills!
The doctor said it was okay for her to eat a plain turkey and black olive sandwich so we stopped and got her one on our way home. She ate about 3/4 of that and then went to bed. She slept until 9:45 this morning and woke up feeling pretty good. She's eating a pedialyte popsicle this morning and she's excited to go to the baby shower this afternoon so I'm crossing my fingers she's on the mend! (for real this time)
