8 weeks

Well since the measurements didn't match up with the due date we origionally calculated we aren't as far along as we first thought. We are eight weeks now....click here to see what changes the baby is making this week.

Update

We went to the doctor on Friday for a regular appointment. She went ahead and did another sonogram to check the baby out and make sure everything was okay (it was!) After measuring the baby again they moved our due date back to April 7 instead of the 2nd so we aren't quite as far along as we initially thought. On Friday we were 7 weeks 3 days.

I'm doing okay with the "morning sickness" I am taking the medication the doctor gave me and for the most part it keeps me from vomiting, there are some lovely side effects that go along with it like stomach cramping but it beats vomiting 24 hours a day.

Thanks for checking in!

Poll Voters:

I want to know who is voting so PLEASE leave a comment in this section so I can see who thinks it is a boy and who thinks it is a girl! Thanks so much!!!!!!!

7 weeks

A few people have been on me to get a "before" picture so this will have to do for now....and yes I know I need to dust my mirror! LOL

I'm anxious for my appointment tomorrow...the past few days have been pretty rough. Lots and lots of vomiting. Yesterday was the worst, I couldn't keep any food or liquid down at all until about 6:00. I was able to keep a few bites of potato down then.

She lost it!!!!

Yesterday Jess was busy wiggling her tooth as much as possible....it loosened up quite a bit in one day but still wasn't close to coming out last night. Then this morning we got up and fixed breakfast...she was almost finished eating when CRUNCH she bit down on her tooth and it just sounded painful! Her eyes about popped out of her head and she started screaming. That definitely loosened it up some more. She worked on it for the rest of the morning. At lunch she wanted to eat mac n cheese while she watched her show on the Disney channel so I set up the TV tray for her and fixed her lunch. A few bites into her lunch I heard a little whining and then all of the sudden, "MOM, COME HERE" I ran in there and her tooth was sitting in the palm of her hand and there was a big toothless grin!

She was super excited to get it out of her mouth until she realized there was a little bit of blood involved! After a few minutes she was fine though.

Guess who has her first loose tooth!?!?!

I was checking Jessica's teeth this morning after she brushed them and look what I saw (if you look close you can see the arrow I added):
She was SO excited! She has been wanting to have a loose tooth for a year now! We'll keep you posted!

We got to see our baby!!!

Yesterday morning when I woke up I was spotting a little. After calling the doctor and talking with her over the phone she said to come in and we would do a sonogram to see how the baby looked. We got to see the heartbeat and see the little grain of rice that is making me so sick!
Unfortunately since the baby is so small now the ultrasound came out mostly dark and my scanner won't pick up anything except black so I can't post the picture.

While we were there they took some blood to test my progesterone levels and the midwife called me back this morning with my results on the progesterone levels and I was measuring at 21.5 (anything over 10 is great!) also she said it was awesome that we saw the heartbeat yesterday too. Typically the heart starts beating in the 6th week and our baby isn't even measuring six weeks yet so to have the heart beating already is a good sign! Kevin thinks this is a sign he/she is going to be a great runner since he/she has such a strong heart already.

After my appointment we had Jessica's first grade physical...she did a great job and we found out she is 3'10 1/2" and she's in the 95th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight! She's getting so big!!!!!

Here is a quick picture from this morning....George had just walked right in front of her so she had her hands up so he wouldn't lick them lol.

First Day of First Grade!

Last night before we went to bed we had Jessica's clothes for today out and ready to go, we set her alarm for 7:30 and went over what she needed to do when her alarm went off, ie: go potty, brush her teeth, take a shower, get dressed, fix her hair and eat breakfast....

So this morning...I hear her door fling open at 6:55 and the next thing I know the shower is going. So I went in to ask her what she was doing...she peaks around the shower curtain with the biggest grin on her face and says "I'm getting ready!" I will be thankful for it now because I know in another month I'm going to have to drag her out of bed!

Here are a few pictures from this morning...

I jinxed myself...

Friday morning I threw up, Saturday morning I threw up and this morning I did too. Thankfully it has just been once each day. Today I'm blaming it on my husband because he went to Sonic and brought home a Frito chili pie...(read the post from a few days ago!) Today a Frito ban went into effect in our house-I'm not sure how chips can smell so awful but it sent me running straight for the bathroom!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Six weeks today!

Click here to read about the baby at six weeks.

I'm still doing well, no vomiting. However the queasiness is definitely present! Yesterday Kevin was minding his own business in the kitchen eating Frito's with queso dip and I about lost my breakfast. It was the worst smell I have ever smelled in my whole life! The look on his face was pretty funny since he had no idea what I was gagging over! Who would have thought chips could have caused that reaction!

We were robbed!

This morning Kevin went to the car to leave for his meeting and the front passenger door isn't shut all the way, as he gets in the car he noticed his wallet was out (usually he keeps it in the console). He opened it and realized a few of his cards were missing. Then he noticed our Garmin navigation system was missing. So we spent all morning calling the banks and credit bureaus putting alerts out and making sure everything is cancelled. We filed a police report and I think our insurance will pay for a new Garmin. Thankfully nothing had been charged to the cards at all by the time we caught it.

What do people do? Just walk up and down streets checking everyones cars? The police suspect juvinille boys, apparently there have been some spottings of these boys trying car handles to see if they are unlocked but they disappear before the police arrive. I'm thankful nothing was charged to the cards between last night and this morning, and I hope there aren't any identity theft instances on Kevin's credit reports in the coming months!

Pictures of the new house

Well we've been moved in for just over a month now and I haven't sent anyone any pictures of our new house yet.

Above are pictures of the living room. The first two pictures are taken from the end of the living room (by the couch) and facing the stairs and front door. The last pictures is taken standing on the stairs over looking the living room.
Below are pictures of the kitchen and dining room:

Below is a picture of Jessica's bathroom, hers was the last room we completed but I have to say, it is one of my favorites! I love the bright colors. She wanted a "beach" bathroom so we went with the "Roxy" brand shower curtain and accessories. We hung up pictures of the beach and palm trees from Florida and I think she is pretty happy with it.

These are pictures of our bedroom:

Our bathroom:

I still need to take pictures of Jessica's room but right now it looks like a bomb went off in there so I'll update those later!

We are home!

We had a good time at the lake and enjoyed ourselves but I am glad to be home! It was SO hot this weekend (hottest weekend of the year so far) so it is nice to be parked in the a/c! Jessica competed in the Kid's Que this weekend and did a great job, she placed 7th out of 18 and got a ribbon and certificate.

After the BBQ on Saturday we went back to the lake house and spent the rest of the day floating in the water trying to stay cool. Sunday we went out on the boat and spent more time swimming and being lazy, it was an awesome weekend.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and stayed cool! I will post pictures soon hopefully!

Headed to the Lake

We are leaving today for Lake of the Ozarks. Kevin's parents compete in BBQ contests so we are headed down there for that. Jessica is also competing in the "Kid's Que" they have. This will be her second year of competing.

We are going to finish telling the rest of our family and friends about the baby this weekend, most everyone we have left to tell will be at the BBQ. We will have Jessica wear the shirt we made for her that says "I'm going to be a BIG SISTER" She thinks it is pretty cool to get to wear it! That is how we told Kevin's parents and sister. We went over for dinner on Tuesday and had Jessica wear her shirt with a hoodie zipped up over it. After a few minutes Kevin asked her if she wanted to show everyone her new shirt, she unzipped her hoodie and let everyone read it.

We hope everyone has a great weekend! We'll be back on Monday.
